Fashion Week in Paris is a stage set for greatness – a scene in which the kings and queens of fashion struggle to be biggest, best, hottest, most daring – you name it. And the prize goes to Chanel and the house’s designer Karl Lagerfeld, which filled Paris’ Grand Palais with 30 tons of ice from Sweden during Chanel’s A/W 2010/11 ready-to-wear show . «Global warming is the issue of our times. Fashion has to address it». Spot on.

On the icy catwalk, every model wore some element of fur: faux fur. Yes, Karl Lagerfeld has taken a stand - «The whole thing was fake, every bit of fur – But that seems right for the times«. Surely, the times they are a-changing!

Fake has never looked better – get ready to indulge in faux fox trim, head-to-toe patchwork polar bear mix, sable fur hot pants and oh so hot and chunky cavewoman boots.

And Kate Moss sure as hell got it – the blond bomb shell really turned some heads launching her purse collection for Longchamp at Paris Fashion Week wearing a short, short, short and sizzling sexy LBD.

Topped of with a pure white jacket, smoking Louboutin´s and grey (!) highlights in her hair, Kate looked like a real…supermodel?

Anyway, she is looking good – looking real good, as always…

Lindsay Lohans høster kritikk etter sitt debut show for Ungaro under Paris Fashion Week. Lohan ble utnevnt som creative director for Ungaro for tre uker siden, og har i forkant av Paris FW samarbeidet tett med sjefsdesigner Estrella Arch.

As for the clothes – they looked cheesy and dated, tordner motenettstedet WWD.

Looks like it´s time to go back to the day job, Ms Lohan, konkluderer Marie Claire.

Hot pink, orange and flashy, with an overworked heart motif relentless in its execution, the collection displayed none of the promised younger side Lohan was supposed to deliver. Nor in a million years would one guess that the lineup was designed by one young woman and “creative directed” by another, avslutter WWD.

Ingen god debut fra den kontroversielle it-girlen altså, og ingen god utvikling for Ungaro. Dermed spøker det for nye kolleksjoner og videre samarbeid, men det er kanskje likegreit – eller? Se bildene fra Lohans debutshow, og døm selv…

Glam-grunge, luksuriøs estestikk og svindyr herlighet var stikkord da Balmain inntok Paris fashion week tidligere denne uken.

Designer Christophe Decarnin gjentar suksessen fra sin forrige kolleksjon for det ærverdige motehuset, og satser igjen på forførende grunge og chic eleganse – til ekstraordinære priser, for de heldige utvalgte med dype lommer.

Nøkkelplagget under Balmains visning på Paris FW var en ultrahot ripped genser, som sammen med blant annet minikjole, jakker med markerte skuldre og herlige, herlige åletrange tights med krokodillemønster, utgjør en kolleksjon som mest sannsynlig vil være like suksessfull som designerens forrige.

Og prisene? Rundt 18.000 kroner for en shimmering T-shirt, kjolene fra 60.000 til 120.000 kroner og jakkene ca. 30.000 kroner – forhåpentlig kommer det flotte rip-offs til oss vanlig dødelige...
